2024 Celtic Sessions
The 2024 Celtic Sessons Stage offers festival goers an opportunity to listen to Celtic Music while learning about the history of its singing and playing techniques. Including Scots Gaelic Choir, Bodhran Drum, Celtic Fiddle and Traditional Celtic Harp.
A limited number of Bodhran Drums will be available to use during the drum sessions.

2:00PM | Wool Waulking Presentation This is a must see demonstration! Experience the traditional art of softening and setting newly woven wool fabric, accompanied by rhythmic work songs sung in the Scots Gaelic language! Presented by: Seirm Gaelic Choir slighe.org |
3:00PM | Celtic Fiddle presentation Join three accomplished local Celtic fiddlers in a session designed to encourage aspiring fiddle players. Bring a fiddle if you have one and grab a wee lesson in playing jigs and reels. Or stop by to meet the presenters and listen to them play and chat about playing Celtic fiddle music. Then if you’d like to start taking lessons, Mae Brown and Ana MacGregor are both local instructors! Presented by: Tessa & Mae Brown from A Fiddle in the Forest and Ana MacGregor (Annie Henry Music) |
4:00PM | Bodhran Drum Workshop This is a play along workshop focused on an introduction to drum rhythms, techniques and time signatures related to playing Celtic jigs and reels. We have a few bodhrans to share in this learning circle or feel free to bring your own drum and join in! Presented by: Educator & Bodhran player Ruth Williams |

4:00PM | Sea Shanty Singalong! Hosted by Hank Cramer This is a very special treat for all those who love the traditional nautical themed shanties. These shipboard work songs always brought to life by the amazing rich voice of Hank Cramer! Learn some history of these rhythmic work shanties, hear some stories and sing along with everyone.
